Happy Book Birthday, GOD'S LITTLE OCEANOGRAPHER!

Today, my 6th picture book swims into the world, illustrated by Marta Alvarez Miguens, published by Penguin Random House Waterbrook. It’s the 2nd book in the Big Adventures for Growing Minds series.

Twenty-two years ago when my daughter was born, adding science and classical music to books and toys was popular, to give babies a head start in education. However, to my knowledge, there wasn’t a Christian series of science books. So when my editor put out a call a few years ago, I jumped on the opportunity, and she and my agent liked my ideas.

This book shows young children what’s true about the ocean and God’s love for them. I hope you have the chance to read it! I would appreciate it if you could:

What’s your favorite ocean activity? For me, it’s beachcombing.

When we lived in CA, my favorite beach was Newport, because every time we went, we saw new animals.

School’s out, so what have I been doing?

• sleeping in!

• staying up late watching K-dramas

• Spoke on 2 podcasts You listen here (CHRI radio Ontario) and here (Reading w/Your Kids, I’m at 37:44).

• finished revising God’s Little Zoologist, the next book in the series (2027)

• cooking & cleaning

• meeting with other authors online for groups I’m involved in

• signed a new book contract! I’ll share about that when I’m allowed.

• getting ready for our vacation on the ocean! It’s our 25th wedding anniversary next month, so hubby, son, and I will be on a cruise to Alaska & British Columbia. If you’ve done this, give me tips and tell me your favorite shore excursions!
