Ocean Book News & AANHPI Month

Hi readers!

I’m so happy to share about my forthcoming picture book, God’s Little Oceanographer. It swims into bookstores June 24th! If you’d like to review a copy, please message me. I need people to post reviews on social media as well as book sites like Good Reads and Amazon. I’ll need your address for the publisher.

Kirkus reviews said, “For curious young Christians eager to explore the deepest depths of the ocean.”

Once a book manuscript is sold, there’s still lots to do! In the last two weeks, I wrote the educator’s guide and You Version Bible app devotion plan for this book. If you’ve read God’s Little Astronomer, the 1st book in the series, perhaps you’ve done the devotion plan with your child in the You Version Bible app. Open the app, click on plans, search using my name or the book title, and you’ll see the 5-day plan for God’s Little Astronomer. And currently, I’m writing the 3rd book in the series, God’s Little Zoologist. It just so happens that next week, our kindergarten classes go on a field trip to the zoo!

May is Asian American, Native Hawaiian, & Pacific Islander heritage month (AANHPI). As a teacher, my first “professional” article was published in Edutopia, titled “5 Strategies to Celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.” If you’re an educator, I hope you find it helpful!

Also for AANHPI month I’ll read The Ocean Calls: A Haenyeo Mermaid Story, as well as signing all my books at Barnes & Noble, Clive, Iowa, on May 3rd, 11am. If you’re in the area, stop by and say hi!

If you have a little one at home, you might want to sign up for free Summer of Stories, hosted by Erin Greneaux. Thirty Christian authors read from their picture books. One each day lands in your email beginning June 9 - July 25. I’ll be reading God’s Little Astronomer on one of the days. Sign up here.

If you’ve read any of my books, especially THE OTHER SIDE OF TOMORROW, please leave a review on Amazon and post to your social media and tag me. I’d love to share it. If you’ve read my book, you’ll also understand how grateful we should be compared to North Korean citizens. Check out this article on the usage of electricity. Could you spend a day cooking without it?

Lastly, thank you for reading my newsletter and books! I’d like to give away 5 free virtual author visits or local author visits (Des Moines, IA area) to the first 5 who contact me. FYI, my last day of school is June 2nd. After that, I’m available for the summer.

May God bless you this spring and Easter season!
